We work to uncover the root cause(s) of your symptoms and develop an appropriate treatment plan. We’ll conduct a thorough evaluation of your symptoms, which may involve a physical exam and diagnostic tests such as blood work, urine testing, or imaging. Based on the results, we’ll provide a personalised treatment plan to address your specific needs.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to request an appointment. We require you to have a GP referral to see our doctors.
It’s important to address any symptoms or issues early to prevent further complications and maintain your overall urological health.
Scrotal swelling or lumps are a common urological symptom. Although many people fear cancer, there are actually a number of causes, including infections, hernias, varicoceles, or cysts. Testicular cancer is a cause which needs to be excluded. We’ll do this promptly for you following a thorough consultation, with a quick ultrasound and some blood tests. The treatment depends on the underlying cause of the swelling, but may include medication or surgery.
If you are concerned about any urological symptoms or have any questions, please schedule an appointment with our urologist team for further evaluation and treatment.
Prostate Specific Antigen (or PSA) is an enzyme secreted by the prostate. Although it naturally occurs in the body, when we detect raised PSA levels, it’s a potential indicator of underlying issues, including cancer.
While many patients have no symptoms for a high PSA, the causes may include: urinary tract infection, prostate cancer, enlarged prostate, prostate infection (Prostatitis), acute urinary retention, recent trauma/surgery or age.
Dr Blecher or Dr Love will perform a comprehensive evaluation to determine the cause of your elevated PSA, and work with you to develop an appropriate treatment option, if required.
Circumcision is a surgical procedure that removes the foreskin; the skin that covers the tip of the penis. The procedure is typically performed under general anaesthesia and involves removing the foreskin and then suturing the skin together.
Partial circumcision is a surgical alternative which is appropriate only for some people, where circumcision is not desired. It aims to widen the foreskin rather than remove it completely.
There are many reasons why people choose to have a circumcision. In many cases it may be recommended for medical reasons, such as recurrent infections, inability to retract the foreskin or difficulty with hygiene. Some people’s reasons include religious, cultural, or personal preferences. However, it is important to discuss the risks and benefits of circumcision with your urologist to make an informed decision.
It is important to note that circumcision, like any surgical procedure, carries some risks, such as bleeding, infection and pain.
